We believe praise and worship is a tool to show our adoration for God. True worship is not merely a song service or music, but a dynamic living expression from the heart of man to the heart of God. We desire to eliminate rigid forms and rituals in exchange for a fresh relationship with the Lord. Your relationship with your spouse, children, or friends may be expressed in many ways, so we desire to communicate real, vibrant, and spontaneous worship to God. We may sing, dance, clap, lift our hands, shout, cry, laugh, or get very quiet. We may wave banners and flags, or be seen laying on the floor. All of these expressions come as a response to His presence as we lift our worship to the Living God. If you have questions, please feel free to ask us.
Singing
We sing as a body together, or we can sing individual praises to God. We can sing known songs, or spontaneous songs by the Spirit. (Ps. 149:1, 1Cor 14:15)
Clapping
Ps. 47:1 says, Clap your hands all ye people.
Dancing
Ps. 149:3, Let them praise His name in the dance; Luke 10:27, Love the Lord with your strength.
Lifting Hands
When someone has your hands, they have you. Lifting hands to the Lord can communicate many things depending on your thoughts towards the Lord; such as, I surrender to You., I praise You, (Neh 8:6, Ps 141:2; 63:4)
Shouting
Wherever there is joy and victory, there is also a shout. Think about how people react at sports events, contests, awards, etc, Jesus is even better than these things. (Ps. 32:11, Luke 19:40)
Quiet
Don’t mistake quietness for nothing happening. God is always moving and however God moves is good. We need to be sensitive to times when the Spirit moves in quietness. (Ps. 46:10)
Banners & Flags
We display banners as a declaration and wave flags as a symbol of loyalty, belonging, and to add to our personal expression of worship. They bring focus; reminding us of God’s nature. (Ps. 66:4, Is 13:2, Song 2:4)
Tongues
Often misunderstood, tongues is the language of the Spirit, direct to God, for personal edification, as well as God-directed prayers, and blessings. Tongues are also a sign. (1Co 14:1, 16-17, Acts 19:1-6)
New Song / Prophetic Song
David commands all through the Psalms to sing a new song to the Lord. This is when you create a song spontaneously for God. It comes from the heart and is an expression of your love for God. Sometimes, the Spirit will inspire a new song that the entire congregation will start to sing together. (Ps 33:3; 40:3)
Groaning
Rom 8:26 says, Likewise the Spirit also helpth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which can not be uttered. (Ps. 38:9; 2Cor 5:2)
Trembling
When we come into the presence of the Holy God, it is overwhelming. Daniel recounts one of his experiences with the Lord in 10:11, And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. (Ps. 2:11, Luke 8:47, Acts 9:6)
Falling Down
Sometimes the Spirit moves upon people and they cannot stand. (1Cor 14:25, 2Chr 5:14)
Laying Prostrate
God’s presence is holy and proper expression of this sense is bowing or laying prostrate before Him. (Gen 17:3, Josh 5:14)
Shofar / Trumpet
God uses a trumpet often in scripture to sound alarm, declare victory and to gather the people. (Josh 6:16, 2Chr 15:14, 23:13, Thes 4:16)
