James 1:13-16
Let no one say when passing through trial, “My temptation is from God;” for God is incapable of being tempted to do evil, and He Himself tempts no one. But when a man is tempted, it is his own passions that carry him away and serve as a bait. Then the passion conceives, and becomes the parent of sin; and sin, when fully matured, gives birth to death. Do not be deceived, my dearly-loved brethren.
Talking to a person in a foreign land at a hotel where I was staying. Talking about the goodness of God. The clerk listened attentively until I was done, but then told me that he could never enjoy such a faith and be like I was. He told me that he was a born a certain way contrary to the ways of the Lord and it was the Lord who made him this way. That this was “him”, the real “him” and thats just the way he was and would always be.
I took my time to reply. This is my reply to him and to all. God did not make you that way. God did not put the weaknesses nor the handicaps nor the wildness in us. He did not make us the way we are. 1 Corinthians 15 says there is a natural realm, fleshly, carnal, earthy realm and there is spiritual realm, heavenly, spiritual, Godly realm. Genesis says that in the beginning God created all things that we know and then He rested or ceased from these labors and let the creation He made direct their own way. He gave us free will. We, as humankind, made our own choices and in the natural realm we are living out the consequences of these choices.
Wrong choices, otherwise known as sin, brought these consequences…sickness, fears, anxieties, phobias, broken relationships, and maliciousness, etc. As a result, we are born in this natural realm carrying the seeds of our forefathers ways and the genetic mixtures of our generations and that influenced by the natural world around us with all of its carnality and warfare as well. Romans 8 actually tells us that the two natures are at odds with one another.
So, the person you may think you are is not the real you, but the earthly, natural you. The real you is in the spiritual realm. God being a Spirit you see must be worshipped in the spirit. And that spirit becomes born again by the Holy Spirit to bring to the beginning of knowing who you really are and are meant to be.
Moses in the natural couldnt speak right, but God didnt care. It was Gods will, his real destiny to be a public speaker and a powerful one at that. Gideon was born to a lowly family and a poor one at that with no leadership experience in the natural, but God didnt care. He made him a leader and one to be feared at that.
Who are you? Do you know? You wont find out in a natural mirror. But in a spiritual mirror which is the Presence of the Lord.
More later
I love you
